Development of SEBoK v. 1.4
This version of the SEBoK was released 29 June 2015. This is a minor release of the SEBoK which includes changes related to 15288, updates articles in areas of System Architecture, Life-Cycle processes, System of Systems, Competencies, Ethics and MBSE, as well as four new case studies.
Content and Feature Updates for v. 1.4
- Content, links, references has been updated throughout the SEBoK to reflect the changes in recently released 15288:2015 standard.
- Part 2 has been renamed from "Systems" to "Foundations of Systems Engineering"
- Updated articles include:
- Material related to Life-cycles has been expanded and restructured in the Generic Life Cycle Model,Applying Life Cycle Processes, Life Cycle Processes and Enterprise Need,Systems Engineering and Management articles
- The Structure of the SEBoK, Relevant Standards, Introduction to Life Cycle Processes, and Systems Engineering and Management articles have been updated to reflect the increased focus on MBSE.
- Roles and Competencies, has been update with new material on proficiency levels and engineering competencies
- Stakeholder Needs and Requirements has been expanded and sharpened.
- Assessing Individuals has been linked with competencies.
- Ethical Behavior has been expanded with more ethical considerations.
- Systems of Systems (SoS) and Socio-Technical Features of Systems of Systems has seen updates related to the "Definition and Characteristics of Systems of Systems" and "Types of SoS"
- System Definition, System Architecture, System Design, Physical Architecture Model Development, Logical Architecture Development Model has been restructure and expanded.
- Four new case studies have been includes: Global Positioning System Case Study, Design for Maintainability, Launch and Test Range System, Complex Adaptive Operating System and the Matrix of Implementation Examples has been updated
