This version of the SEBoK was released 25 March 2016. This is a minor release of the SEBoK which includes a reorganization of Part 1 SEBoK Introduction, a new article on the transition towards Model Based Systems Engineering and two articles giving an overview of Healthcare Systems Engineering, a restructure of the Systems Engineering and Specialty Engineering KA (further renamed in version 2.4 as Systems Engineering and Quality Attributes), as well as a number of corrections of typos across the SEBoK.
Content and Feature Updates for v. 1.6
This section provides a summary of changes for SEBoK v1.6. See letter from the editor for a wider discussion of the changes and future plans.
SEBoK v1.6 includes a reorganization of Part 1, SEBoK Introduction. Part 1 has been divided into three knowledge areas (KA):Introduction to the SEBoK,Introduction to Systems Engineering,Introduction to SE Transformation. The first two KA contain modified versions of existing articles, while the third is a new KA that reflects the changing nature of SE and is to capture the ongoing transformations of the field. The transformation KA defines the scope of the transformation and contains articles which give details about specific aspects of transformational knowledge. The new KA contains three new articles; one that focuses on the Transition of SE to a Model Based Discipline, while the remaining two give an overview of Healthcare SE and the healthcare sector.
Part 6 has seen a restructure of the Systems Engineering and Specialty Engineering KA that incorporate the contents of the Integration of Specialty Engineering article into the Systems Engineering and Specialty Engineering article. (Note: This is now Systems Engineering and Quality Attributes.)
A number of small changes have been made to fix typographical, formatting errors and outdated references, in response to comments made on the SEBoK by people in the SE community. The editorial board would like to thank the Systems Engineering community for their helpful comments received through sebokwiki.org.
